Measuring
Roller Blinds
When fitting inside a recess, measure the finished width at several points, give the narrowest and the total length of the recess. Roller Blinds can be fitted outside a recess or to a sash, however no specific rules apply with this - please call us for advice.
FIG 1.
Inside window recess
Roman Blinds
Take the finished length and finished width and if you are fitting a roman blind inside a recess take several width measurements and give the narrowest minus 1cm for clearance.
Curtains
Curtains require the pole/track length measurement. It is a very good idea to put up your pole before setting about your order; this provides the width measurement (see FIG 3). We have a variety of Poles illustrated here.

FIG 3.
Curtain Fullness
Depending on your choice of headings we will add the required width to give fullness - you can see how this translates into whole widths of fabric required on the ready reckoner on the prices page.
Curtain Length
For pencil pleat heading measure your curtain length in two parts. The first is the hook to hem measurement - the point at which the hook will attach to the curtain ring or eyelet to where you would like the curtain to end. The second is the heading measurement, this is the distance from the hook to where you want the top of your curtain to be.
For tracks, we suggest a heading height of 1-5cm according to preference, so that the track is not visible above the top of the curtain.
Triple pleated headings are most successful when hung from a curtain pole, we suggest that the top of the curtain is is 0.5cm (5mm) below the pole to allow the curtain to fold back in a neat and tailored fashion.
